Storytellers of Barberville
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Gather 'Round, Folks...
There’s been storytelling at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement for as long as we’ve been settlin’. From the get-go, spinnin’ yarns has been at the heart of our festivals and school field trips.
Every year, thousands of wide-eyed schoolkids come through our gates to hear how things used to be 'round these parts—stories of blacksmiths hammerin’ away, hands busy churnin’ butter, spinnin’ thread, workin’ wood, and tales of the Native peoples who once called this land home. These aren’t just any ol’ stories—they’re told by our mighty fine crew of staff and volunteers who know this place like the backs of their hands.
Think you’ve got a knack for gabbin’ and teachin’? We’re always lookin’ for more folks to help out with field trips. Visit: https://www.pioneersettlement.org/volunteers
And come festival time, the Storytelling Stage springs to life with tales that’ll make you laugh, cry, and maybe learn a thing or two. We welcome storytellers from near and far—some from way out across
the country, and even over yonder in Germany!
If you—or someone you know—has a good tale to tell, we’d be proud to have you join the tradition. Reach out to our Storytelling Coordinator at: barbervillestorytellers@gmail.com
Come on down. There’s always a story waitin’ to be told.
