The House Uncle Joe Built — Eliza’s Home Although the house was built by Joseph Underhill, the second owners of Volusia County’s oldest brick home lived there the longest. Some time after Mrs. Lucretia Underhill’s passing in 1906 the Lemmon family purchased the home and the house remained in the their family until around 1967. The front page of the Daytona Morning News Journal on January 25th, 1950 featured this photo of Mrs. Eliza Minshew Lemmon at eighty years old.
